Newest patient...er... resident

Signed myself in today. Too many things outside that just ain't right, and too many things inside numb to them. The collective psyche of humanity is screaming on an amplifyer on the subconcious frequency, and it's quite disturbing. But I've brought in some stuffed toys and look forward to art therapy and maybe a soft room.

Thoughts and prayers

I am taking calls for the American Red Cross today. Every time I take a call I want to cry. There are many who are donating as much as 500 dollars and some who I'm sure are donating their lunch money for the week. Bless these people. They are angels.

Then there are the calls for people who are trying to find loved ones. Some are calm and some are hysterical. They have gone days without hearing from their parents, children, siblings, partners, friends. My heart goes out to them. Please keep them strong.

Then there are the ones who are in the heart of the disaster who are trying to let their loved ones know they are safe. Or to let their loved ones know of a death. Please keep them safe and guide them home.

As I sit here taking these calls I can not help but be emotionally moved. I try to remain detached but I find myself silently crying. These people have suffered loss that I can not even begin to imagine. One day you are sitting in your living room watching tv with your kids or your pet and the very next day you have nothing. Everything gone. Destroyed. The place that you called home no longer exists.

I ask that you each take a moment of silence today to send thoughts, prayers, and healing to these people.
