I woke up and he was just sitting there in the dark, looking at me. At first I didn't know it was him.
I thought it was ghosts again.
Then he saw I was awake, and he began to speak.
He told me things.
Things I didn't know after all of these years of blood.
Things I'm not sure I wanted to know.
He told me everything that's always been missing for him.
He told me about his family
his world
his thoughts and all of the dreams I'd never heard him voice.
He told me what the world is like for him
and how much of what he appears to be is real
and how much is just a mask.
"You're not the only one who hides, Ryan. Not by a long shot."
He told me how much he's been given
Who he values and why
About how far he's willing to push to save someone.
About self sacrifice, although I don't believe he knew he was speaking of that.
He has no limits.
He would give his life if that was what it took.
He's come close to doing that and I've never known.

What do you do when you find out someone would die for you?

I also have a lil' compound bow and some arrows and 4 deer living in my backyard !!!!
