Ok in my school we're having this contest called Mr. Monroe-Woodbury(thats my school's name) It's this thing where guys participate in like contests and stuff and the school votes for the winner. Well a former friend of mine (we've fallen out of friendship but i still care about them) wants to enter the competition. The problem is that my former friend is anatomicly speaking a female. However she believes that she should have been born a male, so for all intensive purposes I will refer to her as he or him for the rest of this post. Anyway so he is contemplating seeing if the administrators would allow him to participate. Now to give you some background my school is extremely homophobic, we weren't allowed to call our GSA last year a GSA and we're not even having one this year. We did a day of silence last year and the reaction of hate we got from some students was more than we even imagined. So if he did this, assuming the administrators allow it which is sketchy, depends whether they care more about not causing the trouble that is bound to rise up from this, or whether they care about not discriminating against transgender students, anyway like I was saying if he did this there would be a lot of discrimination and hate falling upon him. Now I will support him and vote for him but I'm just worried about whether or not he could deal with the hate from the idiots in our school. I'm not asking advice on what to do but just kind of stating my feelings. What is everyone else's thoughts?
