"When a person seriously contemplates suicide, it's not unrealistic
that they will research it. The reason? They don't want to fail.
Taking one's life, whether out of depression or a terminal illness
where they're going to die anyway, is a person's last decision on
earth that they will ever make. It's their last piece of control over
their life.

Suicide is performed because a person feels they have no more control
over their lives. They have absolutely failed, in their own eyes. So,
when a suicide victim is found and brought back to life in a
hospital, the first feeling they feel is way beyond anything they've
experienced thus far. It's like the Mother of all Failure. That's why
so many eventually go on to succeed killing themselves. They can
never get over the fact that they couldn't even do THAT right."
