Note: Since a lot of people didnt get their "Secret Santa" gifts last year, I though that I would post this alternative. Its still up to the staff if we do the "SS", but I thought that this would be fun too!

Tis' the season.

Step One

--Make a post here in _asylum_. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

--If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

--Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

--Take a look at what others post and surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

--If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

--You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not—it's your call.

--There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special

(Ps. If you want my mailing addy, just email me at curiouserandcuriouser13@gmail.com. Send me yours too if you want a surprise in the mail! *smiles*)

11/9/06: I'm sitting at work right now, its 3:19am; the coyotes have been unusually loud this morning. I just finished my English paper, the radio is on and I'm watching KPBS. I took my math test today and I'm almost 100% sure I failed; I now need to think about retaking the class next semester. I need to gather information on neonatal gender assignment surgery.

There is an opening with the city for a lab assistant; I'm going to investigate this tomorrow.

On the lighter side of my life there is going to be hotel party on the 17th, a good friend of mine is turning 21.

11/10/06: its 3:37am; What's more outrageous than wearing a black tie on a yellow Sunday? Well, I've been up for almost 16 hours which doesn't seem all that bad but its amazing how much energy is drained out of you when you're trying to decide what you want to do with your life. It's been a while since I've thought like this; but I must admit I do the best thinking when I'm tired. I need to figure out a major and I need to find a university offering that major.

You're thrown into this world of opportunities, but they are only accessible if your disposition is favorable. You have to ask your self "Are you strong enough?" "Are you smart enough?" "Are you rich enough?" "Are you responsible enough?" "How much are you willing to sacrifice?" "How much pain can you endure?" "How much ass can you kiss?" "How much sleep do you really need?" "How much of your self are you willing to lose?" To be a productive fraction of society these questions will be answered unconsciously or much more agonizing,,, consciously.

I drank some beefy ass coffee so I don't think the off color of this counter top will negatively affect me this evening; furthermore, I doubt the tiny livid birds outside desire the pink lemonade at this time.
